Ross-on-Wye Rotary Club held an actual socially distanced President's Handover evening in a local hotel last week and we (Chippenham Rotary) were invited to attend by the outgoing President Andy Inkpen (former member of the Rotary Club of Chippenham.) Two Rotarians from Chippenham attended by way of the magic carpet of ‘Zoom’ namely President Rick Squires and Rotarian Roger Greenslade.

At the meeting Andy made two presentations. The first was a Paul Harris Fellowship to Richard Williams in recognition of his efforts from the start of the Ross Beer & Cider Festival and for his work over the last few months co-ordinating the medication delivery service. The second was to a newly resurrected Ross Rotary Citizen of the Year award to Jane Roberts for all of her efforts with the Ross Good Neighbours Scheme.

We were hosted over ’Zoom’ by their newest' member, Rotarian Stewart Ross. This was the first time that Ross-on-Wye Rotary Club had attempted a hybrid meeting with a live event and guests joining via ‘Zoom.’ Did it work, yes of course it did and a great time was had by all. Thank you Andy Inkpen for inviting us to your Hand-over evening.
